Projects Planning & Management (PROMAG) Network is a social development non-governmental organization involved primarily in research, poverty reduction, reproductive health, rural development, capacity building and developing networks. The organisation was formed by engineers, development planners, sociologists and health experts in 1996 to respond to issues that affect the socio-economic development of rural and emerging urban communities in Ghana.

PROMAG's operational areas include Sefwi Wiawso, Akontombra, Aowin, Suaman, Bia East and Bia West districts.

Vision

To promote a model of participatory, sustainable and self-reliant development through research, education and training.

Activities

  • Information and campaigning against child labour with a focus on the importance of education
  • Training of Water and Sanitation Committees
  • Support to setting up farmer groups and training in business management skills
  • Facilitating the development of Community Action Plans
  • Training of peer educators
  • Training of Child Protection Committees at community and district levels
  • Information and campaigns to promote better health and sanitation
  • Training of School Management Committees (SMCs) and Parent Teachers Association (PTA) on school governance
  • Forest conservation
