On this page, we have collected information about Oxfam IBIS's whistleblower scheme. It gives participants in our activities, volunteers, employees, business partners, members and citizens in general the opportunity to report suspected illegalities and serious matters regarding Oxfam IBIS's activities, such as e.g. financial crime and sexual abuse.
Since August 2009 Oxfam IBIS has a Anti-corruption Policy in place to prevent corruption and fraud with development funds.
To protect the people we work with, our colleagues and volunteers against all forms of sexual harassment, abuse, exploitation or violence, Oxfam has developed policies and procedure under the common name Safeguarding.
We commit to zero tolerance in relation to sexual harassment, abuse, exploitation or violence.
That means we will do everything possible to prevent these things from happening and take it deeply seriously if it does happen.
One of the cornerstones is Oxfam's Code of Conduct, which regulates our behaviour and describes how everyone in Oxfam should perform his/her work regardless of location.
We involve all relevant parties and act as quickly as possible to conclude the case. However, the time course may vary depending on the nature and complexity of the complaint. You will be updated continuously throughout the process.
You will be asked to provide detailed information on the matter. You can choose to be anonymous.
Rating: If your complaint relates to safeguarding, a special team will take care of it. Care and protection measures will be put in place for victims and witnesses.
Case management: The team decides whether the case should continue, and if it should, who should then be involved. The study starts.
The outcome: A status report is written with recommendations for what to do next. The report's recommendations will be implemented.
Conclusion: You will be informed when the case is completed. The experience will be documented for use in future safeguarding. The case will be filed with the specialist team.
How do we work to prevent sexual harassment, abuse, exploitation and violence
Prevention: Training, communication and information to prevent the risk of abuse and exploitation. Revised recruitment processes, preparation of risk analysis and assessment of employee capacity to perform their job.
Support and Care: Resources are provided to support and care for those who have experienced sexual harassment, abuse, exploitation or violence. Employees are trained in handling any cases.
Response: This includes strengthening and harmonizing current policies and procedures and ensuring that they are understandable and easily accessible to everyone. We aim to promote an environment where information is shared and people are held accountable.
